Newman Event Services deploy customer-centric security at on of the UK’s first covid-secure events.
Last summer an Oxfordshire-based provider of event safety played an integral role in the delivery of the UK’s first ever Covid-compliant festival. Newman Event Services, who are based in Bloxham, Banbury, helped to ensure the success of Also Festival in Compton Verney, Warwickshire.
An event in its seventh year of operation, organisers were looking for a change in provider to accommodate new Covid-compliant procedures. Newman Event Services were contacted as one of a number of event security firms asked to quote for the work and subsequently impressed with their expertise to secure the contract. The scope of the proposal was originally to provide first-aid trained security staff covering event security from start to finish. However, the team at NES implemented their customer-centric approach throughout the festival, assisting with entry-point temperature checks and the on-site marshalling of traffic.
In what was a well-run event, a number of procedures were put into place to mitigate any risk and ensure it remained fully Covid-compliant. Check-in information was sent out to all attendees prior to arrival to manage expectations, providing details of temperature checks on arrival. A comprehensive network of hand sanitizing stations were also available at facilities across the site and all concert-goers were required to wear a mask anywhere that required a queue, such as bars, toilets and food stalls. All facilities were cleaned thoroughly and regularly throughout the weekend, ensuring high hygiene standards were kept.
Newman Event Services worked closely with event organisers throughout the duration of the festival, ensuring all security procedures met current government and local authority guidelines. During the pre-deployment phase, they also ensured all staff were temperature checked on arrival and completed a Covid-health questionnaire to ensure compliance.
As a result of their professional assistance over the course of the entire weekend, the company received positive feedback from event organisers and have been provided with potential dates for next year’s event. Commenting on the success of the event, Managing Director Dean Newman said, “Newman Event Services are proud to have contributed towards the success of the seventh edition of Also Festival. Our team were delighted to have played their part in the United Kingdom’s first ever Covid-compliant festival. We look forward to working with more of our customers, sharing our knowledge and expertise in covid-compliant event security.”
