EventWell Announce #Step300k Challenge for the Events Industry

EventWell, a charitable social enterprise that specialises in educating, campaigning and supporting better mental health and wellbeing in events, is hosting the #Step300k challenge. The fundraiser, which is in its second year of running, is set to support National Walking Month in May and the organisation is inviting everyone in the industry to take part. After a long year, the industry is starting to see glimmers of hope as the lockdown starts to ease, therefore the group wants to make 2021 a bigger and bolder challenge. The event will start in May and continue through to August, with the overall aim to help support the mental wellbeing of professionals during lockdown and beyond. Furthermore, it also wants to help people remain motivated to stay active. There will be a target set of 10,000 steps per day, 300,000 steps a month or the ‘big target’ of one million steps over the course of the whole four months.

The team at EventWell are encouraging all participants and their families to get involved by supporting their charitable outreach and support programmes such as Pledge by Eventwell. The hard work done by the charity has been invaluable in providing financial support to event professionals hit hard by the pandemic over the last year. In March 2021 alone, they awarded over £6,000 in financial aid to more than 35 beneficiaries, including grocery vouchers and small relief grants. As a result, the group is appealing for walkers to friends, family or colleagues to sponsor them, make a donation, or join in the action.

Helen Moon, CEO of EventWell, said: “I’m delighted that we are launching the second Step300k challenge for the event industry, and with the all-important mission of raising vital funds for our pledge programme. Pledge is increasingly proving to be an essential relief service for professionals in our industry experiencing hardship, and we want to ensure that we can continue to offer this essential service, so any money raised from this year’s challenge will help us to achieve this. It’s also important that we all pay special attention to our health and wellbeing. The #Step300k challenge is the perfect way to do this”.

The #Step300k challenge will start on the 1st May 2021. For more information on how you can get involved, visit or email
