Crowd Safety Training

Since 2014 our aim has been simple; to arm learners with the skills, knowledge and confidence to grow, both personally and professionally.
We are extremely proud to be the world-leading training provider in crowd safety training. This is where we started.
Our name of our parent company, The Square Metre, is derived from the mathematics of crowd density; the number of people per square metre.
The formation of our business, back in 2014, sought to address a fundamental skills gap and shortage of crowd safety professionals. From this, our portfolio of qualifications and courses naturally grew, driven by demand from clients all over the world.
Today, we utilise our skills to work in partnership with businesses, local authorities, global brands and awarding bodies to develop innovative learning experiences.
Search the internet and you will find thousands of training providers, but very few can rival the fun and enriching learning experience offered by our team.

From international sporting events and concerts to world-class retail and transport hubs, mass gatherings are increasing in scale and complexity. In the current global environment the challenges of keeping people safe are greater than ever.
Our short Postgraduate Certificate and full MSc programmes at Coventry aim to provide you with the academic underpinning to analyse the features that make for best-practice planning, policy and process, so that you can go on to devise effective crowded places arrangements of your own.
The programmes cover cutting edge crowd dynamics research, and important legal and socio-political frameworks within crowd safety and emergency management, as well as investigating emerging technological solutions, and the contemporary safety and threat environments that impact on the sector.
The courses also aim to provide an understanding of the issues that underlie many of the concerns faced by crowd safety management practitioners, such as multi-agency cooperation and coordination and business continuity. In particular, you will examine how these issues may be addressed in practice, with a view to enhancing the effectiveness of integrated emergency management and organisational resilience.
Programmes are designed to be full- or part-time, and are designed to be flexible to fit around the demands of a career in the live events sector. Entry requirements include a first degree, foundation degree or Level 5 qualification. Start points available in September, January and May every year. Contact us for more details.
